We Are Your One-Stop-Shop for Landscape, Masonry, and Building Supplies
Being the Tri States largest hardscape supplier comes from our diverse and extensive range of materials that apply to many projects. Our goal is to keep our customers satisfied with valuable products that help them build passionately.
“Greater reward is in the serving, not the selling.”
This has been the Braen family motto for five generations—and one we take seriously as a Braen Stone subsidiary. They’ve built their reputation as one of the most trusted partners in the construction industry around their commitment to customers and their jobs. And we’re proud to continue that commitment as the preferred supplier of landscape, masonry, and hardware supplies for the Tri-State Area.

The name of the company becomes Samuel Braen’s Sons, as Abram’s sons John and Sam join the business. The main headquarters is established in Hawthorne, NJ. From Samuel Braen, the business is passed to his son, Abram, and then to Abram’s two sons, Samuel Jr. and John.
Braen grows to more than 20 locations throughout northern New Jersey and New York, by establishing quarry and sand and gravel locations in Paterson, Hawthorne, Wyckoff, Riverdale, Hamburg, and Suffern. Business grows dramatically as the Eisenhower Interstate Highway System requires vast construction materials.
Samuel Braen’s Sons is sold to Fred Wehran by Samuel Braen Sr. The only remaining business asset is the Haledon, NJ quarry.
With his mother, Frances, and wife, Janet, Samuel Jr. established Stone Industries, Inc. in Haledon, NJ. This remaining Braen quarry would serve as the gateway to the fifth generation being actively involved in the business.

In January 2019, the Braen Leadership Team launched Braen’s Vision & Values at a companywide team building event. The vision guides the company’s leadership today and the values reflect everything the Braen name stands for. A painting created during Braen’s Vision and Values launch event features finger-painted smears created by each employee, along with their signatures.
During the height of the COVID pandemic, when many businesses were closing their doors, Braen was expanding with the addition of an asphalt plant located at the Sparta Quarry.
